Compensation: $55,000 – $75,000/year, based on experience, group insurance, discounts, paid parking, etc.

Overview

Our client, a fast-growing apparel company, is looking for a Fashion Designer or Technical Designer with strong technical/fashion design skills and a passion for creating high-quality garments. This role is best suited for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, takes pride in their work, and has a strong understanding of garment construction and production processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create technical sketches in Adobe Illustrator, presenting all garment details (front, back, inside) to clearly communicate construction to vendors
  • Develop and maintain accurate tech packs, ensuring all specifications are current and complete
  • Oversee and follow up on fabric approvals, lab dips, strike-offs, trims, and packaging materials
  • Collaborate with designers, manufacturers, vendors, and clients to ensure product feasibility and alignment with the creative vision
  • Organize and manage design and product development files for efficient access and updates
  • Design and develop prints and patterns, adapting them to meet brand and customer preferences
  • Stay informed on fashion trends and buyer behavior to support collection development
  • Curate and present mood boards to visually support seasonal concepts
  • Coordinate with the production team to ensure quality standards and on-time delivery
  • Archive all creative assets and technical materials for future reference

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a fashion or technical design role
  • Experience working in a high-volume design or production environment
  • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Demonstrated ability to create and manage tech packs and full collections
  • Strong understanding of garment construction, fabric types, and manufacturing processes
  • Creative mindset with the ability to adapt designs based on customer feedback and fashion trends
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
