Hours: Monday to Friday
Compensation: Up to 120,000/year, based on experience + subsidized parking, benefits, half-day Fridays, flex hours.

 

A highly dedicated and detail-oriented Financial Controller with over 10 years of experience in financial management, accounting, and import operations. A proven expert in optimizing financial processes, ensuring regulatory compliance, and managing cross-border transactions. Skilled in leading teams, implementing cost-saving initiatives, and delivering insightful financial analysis to support business growth and strategic decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and comprehensive financial reporting.
  • Prepare and manage the annual budget and cash flow, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Compile and present monthly consolidated financial statements to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Lead full-cycle accounting processes, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, bank reconciliations, sales tax remittance, payroll, and source deductions. Provide HR support and guidance to management when needed.
  • Prepare year-end audit files and coordinate audit activities.
  • Manage foreign exchange contracts to mitigate financial risks.
  • Oversee import operations, ensuring customs compliance, logistics coordination, and resolving discrepancies. Review import/export entries and manage duty drawback claims.
  • Develop and implement robust internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze financial data, providing actionable insights that drive informed strategic decisions.
  • Supervise EDI transactions for invoicing and offer support to accounts receivable teams.
  • Manage and review intercompany transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Oversee investment portfolio data entry and reconciliation.

Key Competencies & Skills:

  • Expertise in Excel and financial analysis tools.
  • 7-10 years of relevant experience.
  • CPA membership is an asset.
  • Bilingual in written and spoken English and French is a must
  • Strong background in Financial Reporting & Analysis, Budgeting & Forecasting.
  • In-depth knowledge of Import/Export Regulations and Customs Compliance.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems.
